Light, Summer Reds
LOW-ALCOHOL, SERVE SLIGHTLY CHILLED
The first two wines were created as light, chillable, summer reds — a Negroamaro-Zibibbo blend from Australia & an Early Muscat blended with co-fermented Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir & Mencia from Ovum wines in Oregon. Both are natural wines. Last bottle is a very light Pinot Noir from Australia. Great lightly chilled. Prices run $30.99, $23.99 & $13.99 respectively.
The above wines are all light reds from Italy — Monica, Corvina, a Corvina-Rondinella-Molinara blend, a Sangiovese-Montepulciano blend, Refosco, and Dolcetto — and are traditionally served slightly chilled in summer! Prices from $14.99 to $22.99.
The last group of wines are all from France and feature 2 grapes — Gamay (from Beaujolais & the Loire Valley) and Pinot Noir (from Vin de Pays d’Oc & Alsace). Low alcohol and tasty! Great summer wines! Prices run from $14.99 to $27.99.
Just in from Washington State…
Sonder Wines 2022 Red Field Blend • Columbia Valley, Washington • Reg $19.99 | Mixed Case $15.99
We didn't think WA had it in it to produce this light of a red... but Sonder did it. 13% alcohol. (No easy feat in Washington State.) Light in body. Fresh, fruity flavors with a little earth and minerality from this blend of Counoise, Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre & Viognier. Nice, slight bitterness on the finish. (This is a positive thing – think Dolcetto!) Makes you want more. Serve slightly chilled in summer.
