Nose = sea breeze followed by notes of dried apricot, red fruit. Flavors were light, soft, fresh, harmonic. Nectarines, white peach with earthy notes and citrus on the finish. Dry. Final-final = salinity & herbs. Great, fresh, spring rosé.

Perfect with a tripe sausage or Burgundy snails but also with fish, shellfish or poultry with cream sauce or white meat. Hard cheeses (Gruyère and Gouda ...) or fresh goat cheese. —winery notes.

Palate = lime, lemons, then as it proceeds to the finish, lime peel, lemon peel, touch of grapefruit. The finish is minerals, stone, earth, salinity. Simply amazing wine. Fish dinner all the way.

This vineyard is just outside of the Chablis designation — and it tastes like it. Very floral notes at the beginning followed by earthy, chalky, limestone notes, then apples & lime zest. Flavors have candied lemons, lemon zest, lime, limestone… then apples on the finish. Minerally, floral, spicy — tastes like a mini-Chablis.

We are so pleased with this wine! What a value. Best with meat and/or mushroom dishes.

A little spiciness on the finish. Truly a delicious wine. The winery suggests enjoying this wine with the traditional cured meats of Spain.

A symphony! Incredible, intoxicating nose. Lime, limestone, minerals. Hard so describe the intriguing nose. For Chardonnay, it’s so defined, so complex. Razor sharp acidity. Pears, apples, citrus. The soil just carries you all the way to the finish, and then you have this long spicy finish. The limestone goes from the beginning to the end. It’s the Ferrari of Chardonnay in the wine world.

The finish has black pepper & earthy notes. 18 months in mostly neutral oak. Smooths out the wine, but it doesn't taste oaky.

Originally known as Domaine René Monnier (Xavier's grandfather), Xavier took over and started bottling under his own name from the 42 acre estate in Meursault stretching from Beaune to Maranges. 60% of the domaine's production is white; 40% red with several premier crus in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Volnay, and Maranges.
100% Pinot Noir in special limestone soils. Aged 12-14 months in 30-35% percent new French oak. Volnay is often described as silky and elegant but the wines can vary in style depending on the soil and elevation of the vineyard. The premier crus situated south of the village, like Clos des Chênes, have a high percentage of limestone and show classic Volnay character of perfume and finesse. Pair with roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami. —importer notes.
