Spicy, dark fruit, black peppery finish. Superb wine.

Really impressive Primitivo.

Can you say eucalyptus-y, minty dark fruit?? Super inviting. Absolutely sexy. Flavors of blueberries, blackberries and then the mint. Superb acidity. Fuller-bodied. Jens: I dig this wine!! Classic Australian Shiraz. For some people it might be too minty, but you guys chew gum all the time, so who knows??! Fuller-bodied. Great wine.

Fancy Vinho Verde. Suspend your disbelief, because this wine is killer! Blend of Loureiro/Arinto. Nose of fresh ocean, seashells with fresh lime & citrus. Palate is much more complex: tropical fruit (mango), citrus, lime. Good acidity (but not effervescence). Finish returns to the sea.

We didn't think WA had it in it to produce this light of a red... but Sonder did it. 13% alcohol. (No easy feat in Washington State.) Light in body. Fresh fruity flavors with a little earth and minerality from its Rhône blend of Counoise, Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre & Viognier. Nice, slight bitterness on the finish. (This is a positive thing – think Dolcetto!). Makes you want more. Serve slightly chilled in summer.

Perfect summer wine. Great chilled.

Beautiful finish. More on the earthy side with yellow plums coming through the whole way. Pretty fresh on the finish. Delicious wine. Wonderful wine to sip and enjoy or serve with rotisserie chicken or seafood.

100% Cabernet Franc. Unbelievable that we could find this crazy-good Loire Valley red for this price. Aromas of cranberry, cocoa, earthy notes. Super inviting nose. On the palate, you get a well-balanced, Loire Valley Cab Franc. Doesn't get smoother than this for the Loire Valley. Blackberries, black cherries, pomegranate, dark chocolate, mocha but within a very medium-bodied frame and good acidity that takes you all the way to the finish.

Orange wine made from skin contact with Pinot Gris & Gewurztraminer. Very aromatic, spicy, herbal nose (ginger). Flavors of blood orange, mandarin, ginger, and turmeric notes. Again spicy, earthy notes (grapes are grown on basaltic and volcanic soil). Lush body with some salinity on the finish which wants you to have more.

Palate is a symphony of blackberries, black cherries, dark plums. Very complex. Great acidity. Dark chocolate, espresso, fine tannins on the finish. Absolutely great wine!

100% Albariño. Aged 8 months in concrete tanks. Aromas of lime, citrus & sea breeze. Palate adds in peaches, green olives, and a lot of seashells. Salinity and then earthy notes on the dry finish. This wine is pricey, but it's a terrific splurge. A wonderful expression of Albariño. Super well-done. The winery's suggested pairing: smoked corn on the cob with salsa!

100% Tannat. Aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Crazy that this dry of a wine could be this approachable with no oak! Ripe black & red fruit on the nose. Palate = lots of blackberries, black cherries, dark plums with some earth on the finish. Grafite from the soils. Fine tannins on the finish. Winery says to enjoy with lamb!

Taste is wild blackberries — juicy & flavorful. Dark plums & black cherries. Soft, spicy finish with a lovely touch of mint. Medium-bodied. What a fun wine! Enjoy Uruguay. Drink now to 1 year. The winery says to enjoy with smoked pulled pork.
