100% Pinot Noir. Nose of black raspberries, herbs, earth. Very light body. 12.5% alc. Flavors of red & black raspberries, forest strawberries, earth. Great acidity. Chill on a warmer day. This wine is your red wine for white fish!

 

Nik & Mik 2025 Moselle Rouge • Mosel, Germany • Reg $26.99 | Mixed Case $21.59

Light, fresh, 11% alc, chillable red from Germany’s Mosel! Produced by Weingut Wagner von Wohlgemuthheim, a historic, family-run winery producing a range of organic wines.

Blend of Dornfelder & Regent. Nose is full of cranberry, pomegranate, cassis, forest floor with herbal components. The aromas make you think the wine will be bigger than it is. Flavors add in black cherries and dark plums, but it is light and fresh with pretty low acidity. Has a refreshingly bitter note on the finish like a cocktail. Great wine.

 

Chateau de Manissy 2024 Tavel Rosé • Southern Rhône, France • Reg $32.99 | Mixed Case $26.39

Grenache 60%, Clairette 30%, Syrah 10%. Notable deep orange-pink-red color, typical for Tavel. Soft nose of raspberries, cherries, earth (clay, stone). Bigger in body than most rosé. Flavors are more pronounced and add in rhubarb and blood orange. Then tongue-tingling acidity on the long, herbal finish. Fresh and at the same time can stand up to steak!! Amazing wine.

 

Masseria Li Veli 2025 Susumaniello Rosé • Puglia, Italy • Reg $29.99 | Mixed Case $23.99

100% Susumaniello. Soft nose of tayberry, pink flowers, and herb covered soil. Flavors of white peach, nectarine, wild strawberries with spicy finish and a note of salinity. Fantastic, sexy rosé!!

 

Scotto 2022 Zinfandel • Lodi, California • Reg $16.99 | Mixed Case $13.59

Family-owned — 3 brothers and a sister — making delicious, well-priced, food-friendly, light- to medium-bodied Zinfandel. Raspberries, note of black cherries & spice. Not super jammy. Well-balanced. Great acidity. Not a powerful Zin. It’s just an easy, delicious, soft wine. Flavors raspberries, blackberries, red & dark cherries with beautiful, peppery notes — but subtle. A LOT of wine for the money.

 

Jean-Michel Fichet 2024 Mersault • Burgundy, France • Reg $135.99 | Mixed Case $108.79

100% Chardonnay. Aging: 11-12 months in (predominantly used) French oak then 6 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. Nose = spicy, minerally limestone, chalk with lime-citrus. Very complex wine. A little oak but not much. Very pleasant acidity. Note of apples, pears on the long, minerally finish. Fresh wine. Not heavy at all. Delicious.

 

Palacios 2023 Petalos Mencia • Bierzo, Spain • Reg $29.99 | Mixed Case $23.99

The winery only cultivates Mencia, but their old-vine vineyards have small amounts of other indigenous grapes growing alongside the Mencia that get included in this field blend: Mencia 91%, Palomino 4%, Alicante Bouchet 1%, Gran Negro 1%, Malvasia 1%, Negreda 1%, Valenciana 1%. Organic. Biodynamic. Ten months in French oak.

Earthy, herbal, spicy nose followed by blueberries & a note of anise. Palate adds in more blue fruit: mulberries, marionberries. Complex. Medium+ bodied. Great acidy, which carries this wine to the finish. Jens: I haven’t tasted a “wow” Mencia like this in a long time. Open 2 hours ahead of drinking if you can for the full, complex nose. Pairings? Spanish grilled lamb chops pictured below.

 

Panagopoulos 2024 Antinoe Moschofilero • Peloponnese, Greece • Reg $27.99 | Mixed Case $22.39

100% Moschofilero from PDO Mantinia. Floral on the nose. Jasmine, green apples. Similar to Viognier, but lighter, not as luscious, but with good weight, complexity, acidity. Flavors have apples, pears, yellow plums. Finish is fresh & dry with citrus and a note of white pepper. Finish is long.

Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon. Floral, earthy nose with pear, apple & a note of nectarine. Soft acidity. Medium-bodied. Palate adds in soft citrus near the finish. Fantastic for the money.

Merlot 92%, Cab 7%, cab franc 1%. Nose of dusty black raspberries, dark plums, herbal notes. Medium-bodied. Black & red plums, blue- and blackberries. Earthy, herbal. Acidity is good. Complexity is good. Cocoa, mocha, dark chocolate on the finish. Terrific $20 WA red!!

 

Chateau La Pirouette 2023 Médoc Cru Bourgeois • Bordeaux, France • Reg $18.99 | Mixed Case $15.19

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Aged 12 months in oak barrels (25% new oak).

Cassis, gravel, coffee on the nose. Super complex. Well-balanced. Fine acidity. Flavors of black currant, blackberries, plums, coffee, hazelnut. Fine tannins with a note of bittersweet chocolate on the long finish. Cru Bourgeois at its best. Winery says to enjoy with grilled meats.

100% Chenin Blanc. Lovely, soft floral & honeysuckle notes with apples, pears. Flavors add in dried pineapple, dried apricot with a nice dry finish. Note of lime rind. Wine isn’t big and fruity, more nuanced with some earth. Stunning.

100% Albariño. Subdued nose of white peach, seashells, sea breeze. Soft flavors = dried apricots, white peach, dried pineapple. Fantastic acidity. Light to medium-bodied. Finish of lemon zest, citrus & a note of salinity. Killer Albariño.

 

Marco Bonfante 2024 Roero Arneis • Piedmont, Italy • Reg $21.99 | Mixed Case $17.59

100% Arneis (translates in local dialect as "the little rascal" as it's a tricky grape to grow) from Roero. White peach, nectarine, rocks on the nose. Flavors add in a floral note followed by soft, minerally citrus. A little fuller than other Arneis. Long, vibrant finish. This wine is a steal! Winery suggests mussels as a pairing.

 

Châteaumar 2025 Côtes du Rhône Rosé • Southern Rhône, France • Reg $23.99 | Mixed Case $19.19

Mainly Grenache with a little bit of Mourvèdre. Strawberries, raspberries & a little earthiness on the nose. Cantaloupe, red fruits, peach. Citrus on the finish. Medium-bodied, so a little more luscious in style. But still tongue-tingling acidity. Dry finish. Fantastic summer sipper. Wonderful wine! 

 

Dos Lusíadas 2019 Pinteivera Tinto • Douro Valley, Portugal • Reg $19.99 | Mixed Case $15.99

100% Touriga Nacional (estate harvest pictured). Dark rich color. You think it will be so big, but it’s not. It’s medium and elegant with lots of finesse. Nose is a little herbal, a little earthy with dark plums and blackberries. Palate has black- and blueberries, licorice, spices and then soft orange rind acidity with a long, beautiful finish. This wine has more life!! So delicious.

 

Château Cormeil-Figeac 2020 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru • Bordeaux, France • Reg $44.99 | Mixed Case $35.99

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. "Intensely aromatic and floral nose, with notes of herbal, spiced pepper, and some cocoa. Bright red and blue fruit on the palate, pomegranate juice, redcurrants, and cool blueberries, with further savoury flavours. The tannins are very fine and silky, with a lovely salinity. 100% Weißburgunder (German) = Pinot Bianco (Italian) and this wine proudly comes from Südtirol, the German-speaking part of the Italian Alps. Clay, rocky soils with wildflowers & apple on the nose. Luscious body. Absolutely wonderful acidity. Flavors of pear, apple, citrus with dried pineapple on the long finish. It’s what makes this wine! Pairings? So many. Südtirol = speck, sausages, knödel. PNW = seafood, grilled salmon, Dungeness crab. Drink now.

 

The Ned 2018 Pinot Noir • Marlborough, New Zealand • Reg $23.99 | Mixed Case $19.19

100% Sauvignon Blanc. Winery notes: "...delightful aromas of citrus peel and gooseberry... with hints of punchy herbs. The fleshy and full midpalate expresses ripe mango and passionfruit which is tamed by an underlying minerality and juicy backbone of acidity." Sounds like summer to us! Winery suggests enjoying with herbed quinoa salad with mint, parsley and lemon.

100% Pinot Noir. Individual clones were barrel-aged separately for 11 months in French oak (30% new). 13% alcohol. "Deliciously fragrant Marlborough pinot noir, jam-packed with boysenberries, blackberries and kola nut, intermingled with scents of rose petal and woodsmoke. The palate is medium-bodied and bright, layered with black liquorice, plum pudding and allspice. Finely structured with intense varietal expression, the abundant dark fruit flavours are laced with silky tannins and earthy tones to give a lingering and beguiling finish." –winery notes.

 

Umberto Cesari 2022 Sangiovese Riserva • Emilia-Romagna, Italy • Reg $33.99 | Mixed Case $27.19

Sangiovese Riserva (= minimum aging of 2 years before release). Violets, red & dark plums, earth, leather on the nose. Fruitier than Tuscan Sangiovese, but with depth. Flavors add in blackberries, blueberries, note of sandalwood. Fuller-bodied. Acidity is subtle, but hangs on through the finish with notes of cocoa. Jens: this wine is perfectly made. Emilia-Romagna's answer to Tuscany!

 

Walt 2023 Pinot Noir • Santa Rita Hills, California • Reg $54.99 | Mixed Case $43.99

100% Pinot Noir. Black & red raspberries with very soft herbs on the nose. Medium+ bodied. Creamy-smooth in your mouth. Flavors add in red & black cherries, pomegranate and this wonderful spiciness. It was a vibrant, energetic sort of wine = acidity. Very soft tannins on the finish. An absolute pleasure to drink. 

 

Milou 2025 Rosé • Vin de Pays d'Oc, France • Reg $15.99 | Mixed Case $12.79

Blend: Grenache 60%, Cinsault 20% & Syrah 20% from arid vineyards with limestone, pebbly soils. Nice soft red fruit. Touch of earthiness. Nice dry finish with a little citrus note. Terrific rosé. Good body. Refreshing.

 

Rezabal 2025 Txakoli Rosé • Basque Country, Spain • Reg $21.99 | Mixed Case $17.59

100% native grape Hondarrabi Beltza from Pais Vasco = Basque Country. Bright pink in color but dry! Notes of fresh, wild strawberries. Silky in texture. Perfect for grilled foods across the board. Great sipper, too!

 

Maison Lavau 2025 Côtes du Rhône Blanc • Southern Rhône, France • Reg $17.99 | Mixed Case $14.39

Grenache Blanc-Viognier 60/40. Aromatic nose of rich, ripe, complex pears. Flavors = fresh, ripe pear (but not sweet!) with a hint of apples. Medium-bodied with terrific acidity. Makes this wine fresh. Then a soft, peppery finish with a note of salinity. Absolutely great wine for the money. The winery says to enjoy with "a fish terrine, salmon tartare, seasoned fish or even a mid-dry goat’s cheese."

 

Les Quatre Tours 2025 Vilandria Aix-En-Provence Rosé • Provence, France • Reg 1.99 | Mixed Case $17.39

Classic blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah from a cooperative in Côtes d'Aix-en-Provence. Nose of wild strawberries, raspberries & mineral notes. Flavors add in dried apricot, white peach, citrus & wonderful stony minerality, especially on the dry finish. Provence rosé for this price is nuts!

 

Domaine Brunely 2023 Vacqueyras Raphael • Southern Rhône, France • Reg $24.99 | Mixed Case $19.99

Blend = Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan. Classic garrigue on the nose — herbal, spicy, black & red raspberries, forest strawberries. Flavors have more black raspberries, blackberries, dark plums. Still has spiciness with herbal, earthy notes. Finish has a touch of acidity. Lightens up the wine and makes you want more. We bought this wine on a sale. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

 

Bartholomew 2023 Cunoise • Horse Heaven Hills, Washington • Reg $29.99 | Mixed Case $23.99

100% Cunoise (originally a blending grape from France's Southern Rhône Valley). Subdued nose of red fruits & herbs. Great acidity. On the palate:  A little spicy. A little herbal. Dark cherries. Medium-bodied (but lighter for WA State = 13.9%). Absolutely great summer wine. Hamburgers, chicken, pork chops. Great sipper slightly chilled. Don't miss this one. It's a standout!

 

R de Romaneira 2025 Vinho Branco • Douro Valley, Portugal • Reg $21.99 | Mixed Case $17.59

Vosinho 30%, Gouveao 30%, Rabigoto 20%, Codega 20%. Flowers and herbs, followed by pear and apples on the nose. Pear, apples, yellow plums on the palate with citrus & lime on an earthy, minerally backbone. Long, fresh finish. Fantastic acidity. Really delicious example from the Douro.

 

Chateau Petit Freylon 2024 Bordeaux Blanc • Bordeaux, France • Reg $14.99 | Mixed Case $11.99

Sauvignon Blanc 85%, Sémillon 15%. Ruby red grapefruit, herbal notes on the nose. Flavors of pink & white grapefruit, mango, tart pineapple, tropical fruits. Medium-bodied. Long, fresh, citrusy finish. Not crazy tart, but delicious. Lingers on your tongue. Crazy amount of wine for the money. Jens: Watch the French in the World Cup and say: Santé with this wine! Drink now to 2 years. Great with most summer dinners.

Classic Provence Rosé! Blend of 64% Grenache, 24% Syrah, 12% Cinsault. Floral & herbal on the nose. Sort of a Provençal garrigue & flower field. So beautiful. Wild strawberries, red raspberries, hint of honeydew melon with herbs, flowers & spices. Nice dry finish. Great acidity. Super delicious rosé!

 

Corte Giacobbe 2021 Pinot Grigio Ramato • Veneto, Italy • Reg $21.99 | Mixed Case $17.59

70% Grenache, 30% Syrah. Nose is sexy. Blind, this is a Châteauneuf. Dark plums, forest berries, herbal, earthy notes. Plums on the palate. Spicy! Black-and blueberries on the finish. This wine needs a full hour to open. Pretty big. Full-bodied. Long, herbal, spicy finish.

100% Nerello Mascalese from vineyards on the north side of Etna with volcanic soils rich in potassium and iron. Aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for 6 months, then 4 in bottle before release. Classic nose of volcanic minerality with berries, spices. Medium-bodied with pleasant fruitiness and a note of orange rind acidity on the finish. Soft tannins. Pretty darn easy-drinking. Winery says to serve with “all vegetable and meat specialties typical of the Mediterranean tradition.”

 

Kiona 2022 Lemberger • Red Mountain, Washington • Reg $21.99 | Mixed Case $17.59

100% Lemberger = Blaufränkisch. The nose is just killing it! Like you kicked the soccer ball into the raspberry patch and when you fish it out, you have to eat a few. Kind of earthy, kind of smokey. Super sexy. Palate changes: blackberry, plums. (If you like Pflaumenmousse [German plum butter, like apple butter but with plums] in a non-sweet way?? This is your wine.) Medium+ bodied. Such a feat for WA State! Not super dry. Not super acidic. But superb balance. Jens: What a wine!! Don’t miss this one.

30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), 40% Alfrocheiro. Lovely nose of red and dark fruits (black cherries, blackberries) with a minerally note. Medium- to fuller-bodied with flavors similar to the nose. Great acidity (but not tart). Back in stock! Crowd-pleaser. All-Time Favorite. Perfect price.

 

Robert Craig 2019 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon • Napa Valley, California • Reg $99.99 | Mixed Case $79.99 

Winery notes: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 2% Malbec. Upon release, there is a rush of exotic black and red thorny vine fruits that fill the mid palate and linger on the long finish. The 2022 is a laser focused display of Howell Mountain. Crushed red rocks, cassis and mountain wildflowers all emanate from the glass. The wine possesses an integration and suppleness that bodes well for a long life in the cellar.

70% Cab, 30% Merlot. Espresso, earthy tones, a little dark fruit on the nose. Flavors of black currant, blackberry, blueberry, earthy times with terrific acidity. Finish is something else = dark chocolate, mocha notes with fine tannins. Absolute steal for the money. You don’t get Bordeaux Superior for that money anymore.
